Continuous Improvement Project                                                                                                Spring of 2013

  • Managed continuous improvement project to relocate spare motor inventory and racks from the back of the maintenance area to another building—this area had become a 5S nightmare.

  • Began project by collaborating with maintenance team members and the maintenance superintendent to determine a new location suitable for the spare motor inventory and racks.  

  • Developed a plan to coordinate the labeling, relocation, and transport of the spare motors and racks to their new home.

  • Assigned our parts attendant to develop an excel sheet to collect all the information on the motors inventory (frame size, part #, etc.)

  • Results: We free up space to stage maintenance projects, successfully implemented 5S for our spare motor inventory, and developed a better system to collect and store information on the plant’s spare motors inventory.

Team Development Project with Chasers Bar and Grill                           January 2015 to May 2015

  • Partnered with Chasers Bar and Grill to identify improvements in their workforce process.

  • Setup team meetings with executives and managers, drafted a Gantt chart, and outlined steps for creating a training program for new employees.

  • Conducted interviews with executives and managers to gather background information on the restaurant.

  • Developed and distributed surveys to employees to gather quantifiable data.

  • Analyzed survey results by applying the Baldrige Performance Excellence Model.

  • Presented our findings to a panel of professors and Chaser’s management outlining recommendations and steps for optimizing their effectiveness and performance.
